This years Windermere camp will be held on 9-16 September 2006.
Bid forms are now with units, and the closing date is the 30 June.
The week costs £70, which includes travel to and from the centre, food and accommodation plus all of the activities.
These include hillwalking, climbing & abseiling, mountain biking, kayaking/canoeing and either a ghyll or rock scramble.
Windermere is the National Air
Cadet Adventure Training Centre (NACATC) in the Lake District and is available
for all Wings to apply for a week. Dorset & Wiltshire Wing has regularly attended
this centre for over 10 years, taking advantage of the varied facilities
available locally. The programme varies from year to year but activities
include: -
Hill
walking
Canoeing
Climbing
Abseiling
Mountain Biking
Swimming
Selection criteria: -
Cadets.
Minimum age 14 at on 10 September 2006.
Must be first class status.
Reasonably fit (no
overweight or long term injured)
Pay the required amount of £70.00
The centre can accommodate 20 male cadets, 10 female cadets and 6 staff. It is five minutes from the town centre and close to the lakes and Mountains utilised for activities.
